Microsoft has announced that IE 11 will be the last major version of IE and that consequently, it will be ending mainstream support. For detail, see Lifecycle FAQ - Internet Explorer and Edge.
Once Microsoft ends support for IE, it will no longer be provided with Microsoft security updates. This will make IE highly vulnerable to viruses and other factors that could disrupt normal browser operation. In addition, given the increasing number of services and tools that do not support IE compatibility in recent years, we will be implementing the following policy to ensure that customers can continue to use our products reliably.
Support policy for IE that is no longer supported by Microsoft
Based on our support policy, environments running on IE, for which Microsoft mainstream support has ended, will automatically be switched to the Limited Support Service, which includes the following:
- Answering questions about operation methods and inquiries regarding emergency situations when production operation has stopped
- Providing information on known failures
- Providing version upgrades
Patches and service packs normally provided as maintenance for our products (version) using IE as the operating environment will no longer be implemented after Microsoft’s end of mainstream support date.
