For various purposes, Datalizer keeps log files of software activities on a daily basis. However, with Dr. Sum Datalizer V5.0 patch 5.0.00.0020, the default behavior has been slightly modified in such a way that logs older than 30 days are automatically deleted from the system.
Behavior Prior to Dr. Sum Datalizer V5.0 patch 5.0.00.0020:
- Daily logs are recorded and stored, and are not deleted automatically.
Behavior After Dr. Sum Datalizer V5.0 patch 5.0.00.0020:
- Daily logs are recorded and stored only for 30 days. Log files that are older than 30 days are automatically deleted from the system.
If you want to modify the default behavior (auto-deleting of logs older than 30 days), you can do so by following the instructions in this article.
The log files can be found in the following locations:
- All log files under <Installation folder for Datalizer Server>\logs\spspnt
- All log files under <Installation folder for Datalizer Server>\logs\sps (excluding "motionchart" folder)
To know more about what types of activities Datalizer stores in its log files, please refer to Chapter 2-5 Configuring Output Level and How to Save Logs (Log output settings) in the Dr. Sum Datalizer Administrator Guide.
